George Fountos

Dr. George Fountos, was born in 1965. He was elected as Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Instriuments Technology of the Technological Educational Institute of Athens at 2007, while today is a Professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering of the University of West Attica, Greece. He received his Diploma in Physics from the University of Ioannina, Greece, in 1987 his M.Sc. in Medical Physics in 1989 from Patras University and his Ph.D. in Medical Physics in 1995 from the University of Ioannina. He received his licence in Radiation Physics in 1996 and he is the Treasurer of the Hellenic Assosiation of Medical Physics (HAMP) from 2004. He has published 26 full papers in international journals and books and has many publications in conference proceedings (90 citations in published work). His research interests are focused on Dual Energy Body composition, Quality assurance and simulations in ionizing Radiation Medical Systems, Radiation protection, Physics of Nuclear Medicine and Radiology, electron microscopy TEM etc.
