Dr. Spiros Kostopoulos received his B.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Department of Medical Instruments Technology of the Technological Educational Institute of Athens, Greece, in 2000, and the M.Sc. degree in Medical Physics from the University of Surrey, UK, in 2004. He received his Ph.D in Medical Physics in 2009 from the University of Patras, Greece.
He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering of the University of West Attica in the field of Medical Image Analysis.
His main research activities lie in the field of Medical Image Analysis, Decision Support Systems, Pattern Recognition, Machine Learning, and Bioinformatics. He has more than 40 publications in scientific journals with impact factor and more than 80 publications in international and national conferences. His scientific publications, starting from 2005, have received more than 500 non-self citations so far.
