Dimitrios Glotsos

He received his B.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Department of Biomedical Engineering (former Medical Instruments Technology) of the Technological Educational Institute of Athens, Greece, in 2000. He received his M.Sc. degree in Medical Physics from the University of Patras, Greece, in 2002. He was awarded with the Ph.D. degree by the University of Patras, Greece, in 2006. His thesis concerned the development of machine learning methods for processing of microscopy images and signals.

His research interests include decision support systems in medicine and biology, medical image processing and analysis, and microscopy. His published work includes 70 publications in international scientific journals, 81 publications in international scientific conferences and more than 800/1350 (scopus/google scholar) citations. He has participated as coordinator, main research and associate researcher in 11 international and national funded research projects.

Currently, he holds the position of Professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering of the University of West Attica, Greece and he is the Coordinator of the MSc program “Biomedical Engineering and Technology”.
