Postgraduate Taught Courses

The Department autonomously organizes two Postgraduate Taught Programmes at the University of West Attica:

  1. The MSc programme entitled “Advanced Systems and Methods in Biomedical Technology“, provides an in-depth study in Biomedical Engineering.
  2. The programme “MSc in Biomedical Engineering & Technology” , (presentation video), instructed in English language, is designed as an intensive introduction and deepening program in selected fields of Biomedical Engineering and Technology. It is addressed to graduates of departments of Schools of Engineering, Positive Sciences, Health Sciences, and other related Sciences who wish to move academically, research and/or professionally in the scientific field of Biomedical Engineering and Technology. The purpose of the program is to create the necessary bases for the development of the participants both at research and professional level. The main objectives of the program are the following:
a/ intensive introduction to the science of Biomedical Engineering and Technology,
b/ cultivation and development of problem-solving skills,
c/ interaction with the labor market and Biomedical Engineering and Technology industry,
d/ preparation for continuing studies at doctoral level.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will be able to:

a/ to understand the basic operating principles, uses and applications of a multitude of biomedical systems,
b/ have the necessary knowledge and skills for the design, development and evaluation of technological solutions for biomedical applications,
c/ apply their knowledge and skills, think critically, communicate effectively and work collaboratively,
d/ to strengthen their problem-solving skills by bridging the gap between theory and practice,
e/ to develop skills in writing scientific reports and oral presentation of scientific results,

f/ understand the needs and requirements of the labor market and know the professional, academic and research career prospects in biomedical engineering.
