Spyros Krimpalis studied Physics at University of Ioannina (BSc ’03) and got his Master Degree Automation Systems / Control and Robotic Systems (MSc ’05), at the School of Mechanical Engineering, of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). Thereafter he worked as researcher at the National Institute of Research and Development for Technical Physics (NIRDTP), at Iasi of Romania, within a Marie Curie Research Training Network. In parallel he did his PhD (PhD ’12) at the Physics Department of Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, at Iasi of Romania. The subject of his study was magnetic nanomaterials and spin-transfer torque effects.

Since then, he worked as postdoc at University of Patras and thereafter at NCSR “Demokritos”. In parallel he worked at Higher Education as teaching staff within different positions. Moreover, he works at Secondary Education as a teacher.

His research interests includes: Study and characterization of electronic materials, magnetic nanomaterials, materials’ mechanical properties, study and development of methods for the characterization of the visual properties of materials with application on the exterior surface of buildings.

He is a co-author in 12 papers published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, 1 paper in peer-reviewed scientific conference and 1 in peer-reviewed scientific journal without impact factor (h-index 6; 94 citations).
