Professor Luis Coelho of Engineering School, Porto, Portugal visited our Department on Thusday 18 April 2015, under the Erasmus+ collaboration between the two institutions.

During her stay in the Department, Prof. Coelho offered a very interesting talk entitled:

The international 3rd Conference on PET/MR and SPECT/MR took place in Kos island, Greece during the days 19 – 21 May 2014. The conference was focused in the state-of-art imaging technologies PET/MR and SPECT/MR. The head of the organizing committee of the conference was the faculty member of our Department Assistant Professor Geogre Loudos.

The COST Action TD1007 program: “Bimodal PET-MRI molecular imaging technologies and applications for in vivo monitoring of disease and biological processes”, has organized the summer school “1st International Training School on PET-MRI Engineering” with coordinator the Assistant Professor George Loudos.

The Department of Biomedical Engineering, Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Athens, Greece, was organized the Conference on Bio-Medical Instrumentation and related Engineering and Physical Sciences (BIOMEP 2013) with International contribution at TEI of Athens, on 21-22 June 2013.

The scope of the conference was to provide a forum on the latest developments in Biomedical Instrumentation and related principles of Physical and Engineering sciences. Scientists and engineers from academic, industrial and health disciplines were invited to participate in the Conference and to contribute both in the promotion and dissemination of the scientific knowledge.

Meerting on PET/MRI was coordinated by TEI of Athens and the Assistant Professor George Loudos on Saturday 23 February 2013. the meeting was organized under the European COST Action TD1007 “Bimodal PET-MRI molecular imaging technologies and applications for in vivo monitoring of disease and biological processes”.


Application Professor D. Glotsos and Application Professor P. Liaparinos visited the Universidad Politecnica De Madrid, Spain during the week 26-30 November 2012, under the Erasmus collaboration between the two institutions.

During their stay, Applic. Professor D. Glotsos offered talks regarding medical image processing and analysis while Applic. Professor P. Liaparinos offered talks regarding medical imaging digital sensors.
